Phase One of Family Based Treatment (FBT)

In this video, you'll learn more about Phase 1 of FBT.

-Focuses on renourishment and help parents take chart to restore their child’s weight and eating behaviors to a healthy range

-Parents in charge of meal choice, preparation, plating, supervising, interrupting any ED bxs (eg. purging, exercising)

-Parents need to set up an environment where eating is not encouraged, but expected

-Until a level of medical stability is reached, it’s wise to avoid conversation with your teen about food, body image, ED bxs, etc.
